3 Ways To Save Money On Your Air Conditioning Bill

Running an air conditioner in your home can sometimes be very costly. Fortunately, there are many different things that you can do in order to help make the cost of cooling your home more affordable for you.

1. Don't Use Your Dryer

During the hot summer months, you should avoid using your dryer as much as possible. If you're not in a huge rush to get your clothes dry, it's much better to either dry your clothes on an outdoor clothesline or let them dry indoors on collapsible drying racks. Not using your dryer should help a great deal with keeping your home nice and cool.

2. Plan Your Day Wisely

Planning your day wisely can help reduce how often you need to turn your air conditioner on. You should try to plan activities that require you to be physically active such as vacuuming or cleaning the bathroom for times of the day when it's cooler out like later in the evening or early in the morning.

During the afternoon or other times when it's really hot out, you should focus on doing things that don't require you to move around a lot such as paying the bills and washing the dishes. You should also consider having a fan pointed at you while you're doing those activities as that will help even more to keep you feeling cool and comfortable.

3. Avoid Using Your Oven

Instead of cooking with your regular oven, you should consider using your microwave or toaster oven instead. These appliances use much less energy than regular ovens do.

Another advantage of cooking with a microwave or toaster oven is that they cook meals much faster than traditional ovens do. If your microwave is more then 10 years old, you should replace it with a new one as soon as possible. The reason for this is that the newer models of microwaves are much more energy efficient than the older ones. Crockpots are also very energy efficient. Another advantage of crockpot cooking is that you can throw the ingredients in to the crockpot in the morning and then as soon as you arrive home you can eat dinner right away.

There's no doubt that having to deal with an expensive air conditioning bill can be really stressful. Luckily though, trying even just one or two of these tips should go a long ways in helping you save money on this particular bill. If you find your air conditioner isn't working properly, this can also increase your bills.
